Eng. Hizkyas Dufera With a Vision & Innovation to Light-up Rural Ethiopia

His first visit to his home country in 2011 after 16 years of living in the United States and a visit to his grandmother in the rural Ethiopia inspired him to come up with an innovative solar energy solution after he realized how difficult life is without electricity where his grandmother lives.
Hizkyas Dufera came to America with his family 19 years ago. He finished high school (11th and 12th grade) and also his higher education here in the USA.
He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland with Honors and received his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Hartford.
He has been working as an electrical engineer and project manager for several companies. He currently works at an energy company as a program manager and lives in New York City.
He also recently founded his own company called DufSar Energy where he is diligently working on a mass production of his innovation.

በአሜሪካን አገር መኖር ከጀመረ ከ16 ዓመታት በኋላ ለመጀመሪያ ጊዜ ወደሃገሩ በ2003 (Ethiopian calendar) ያደረገው ጉዞና በተለይም ደግሞ አያቱን ለመጠየቅ ወደገጠር በተጓዘበት ጊዜ ያስተዋለው ያለኤሌክትሪክ ሃይልና ያለ መብራት የመኖር ከባድ የኑሮ ችግር ሞያውን ተጠቅሞ አንድ መፍትሄ ላገሩ (በተለይም ለገጠሩ ሕዝብ) ማምጣት እንዳለበት የሚጎተጉት ስሜት በውስጡ ተጫረ።
ሕዝቅያስ ዱፌራ ወደአሜሪካን ከቤተሰቡ ጋር የመጣው ከ19 ዓመት በፊት ሲሆን የ11ኛ እና 12ኛ ከፍል ትምህርቱን እንዲሁም ከፍተኛ ትምህርቱን ያጠናቀቀውም በዚሁ በአሜሪካን ነው። የመጀመሪያ ዲግሪውን በኤሌክትሪካል ኢንጂኔሪንግ ከዩኒቨርስቲ ኦፍ ሜሪላንድ በከፍተኛ ማዕረግ የጨረሰ ሲሆን፣ የማስተር ኦፍ ሳይንስ ዲግሪውንም በኤሌክትሪካል ኢንጂኔሪንግ ከሬንሴላር ፖሊቴክኒክ ኢኒስቲትዩት አት ሃርትፈርድ ተቀብሏል።
በተለያዩ ድርጅቶች በተለያዩ ሃላፊነቶች ለይ በመሆን ያገለገለ ሲሆን በአሁን ሰዓት በአንድ ኢነርጂ ኩባንያ ውስጥ በፕሮግራም ማኔጀርነት እየሰራ ይገኛል። ከዚህም በተጨማሪ በቅርቡ የፈጠራ ስራውን እውን ለማድረግ ቆርጦ በመነሳት ደፍሳር ኢነርጂ የተሰኘ የራሱን ደረጅት አቋቁሟል።
